Do you have an event coming up at Halloween? By this stage you have probably already planned all the finer details, however it’s never too late to add some last minute touches to join in on the Halloween celebrations.
Here are 8 of our favourite, cost effective halloween event ideas for a spooky twist!
1) Pumpkin Wrap
Decorating your event with flowers can be expensive, and you don’t want it to look like a wedding. For a cheaper alternative, buy some pumpkins ( I hear they’re in season!) and some fabric, or use old materials, and wrap it up, tying with a bow. Instant Halloween glamour!
2) Spooky Photograph Contest
Buy some spooky props, witches hats, hatchets, scary masks, and have your guests take photos and caption them, using your event hashtag, for a prize (or just the glory!). This is a great way to get your event treading online, and is great fun for your guests.
3) Bloody Candles
Light a red candlestick and drip the hot wax (careful) over some white pillar candles to give a bloody effect. Simple.
4) Chicken Wire Ghosts
Fashion some chicken wire into a dress to create a body, and finish with glow in the dark paint for spooky ghosts outside your venue.
5) Mummy Jars
Wrap some old jam or food jars in bandages and stick on some googly eyes. Instant mummies! You could even put a candle inside to create a soft glow.
6) Storm in a Teapot
This is a trickier idea to execute, but steaming teapots work so well at events. When hot water is added to dry ice it creates a wonderful mist that fills your guests table…perfect for Halloween!
7) Trick or Treat?
Just because your guests are adults, don’t think that they won’t want an extra goody bag! Why not have a trick or treat gift bag? Fill half your bags with halloween treats, and the others will magic tricks that you guests can play with.
8) Fairy magic
If you’re holding a smaller meet up, chances are there is no stage as such for your speakers to stand on. Why not create a simple fairy light circle for them to stand in, TEDx style!
So, there you have it. Some simple ideas that are easily executed and very low budget. You may not think you need them, but adding some of these little extra touches will show your guests that you care, and tap into the holiday festivities.
